Good news! But by no means surprising for Leverkusen fans, Moussa Diaby is no longer a target for Newcastle United! The Telegraph claim the Toon are 'disillusioned' by the price quoted by Bayer 04, £60 million up front, and the wage demands of the player himself - believed to be in excess of £110,000 a week. Hopefully this will now be the end of the matter, for this season at least and we can finally start reading 'real news' again.
In an interview with Sport Bild, Nadiem Amiri has made clear his intention to leave the club this summer, after the training camp in Austria. The former Germany international is humble in his aspirations for his next club, saying that he will not look to only go to a club playing in the Champions League. A return to Italy is the most likely outcome for the 25-year-old who has been linked with moves to the likes of Fiorentina and Hellas Verona. About a move to Verona Amiri said, "I'm not writing that off" - perhaps a reunion with Retsos? That would be interesting...
