Arrivals
Mykhaylo Mudryk, the player who previously dismissed Brentford as a 'middle class Premier League team', should now be open about moving to England. At one point, everything was said to be ready for the 21 year old to join Leverkusen - personal terms agreed, medicals completed - only an agreement on the fee is missing, with Shakhtar holding out for higher bids. Igor Tsyganyk reports that Brentford are taking advantage of this lull in activity by stepping up their interest in the Ukrainian, dubbed the 'Ukrainian Neymar'. With Bayer 04 unwilling to increase their own bid, perhaps Mudryk is slipping away...
Matias Zaracho of Atletico Mineiro is again being linked with a move away. The 24-year-old Argentine was subject to a €17m bid last September. The Brazilian club expect a €20m offer for him to arrive in the coming days according to journalist Fred Augusto. The interested club is not named but it is speculated on numerous news sites that it might be Leverkusen. Torcedores.com however claim it is Frankfurt, not Leverkusen, which is interested and making the offer. Atletico MG do not want to sell at this point in the season, despite Zaracho being their potential record sale.
TuttoMercatoWeb claim that Monaco B's Jordan Varela is in the sights of Bayer Leverkusen. The French U19 international, who impressed at this summer's Euros, is particularly praised for his offensive qualities. The 19-year-old has not yet made an appearance for Monaco's senior team and his contract expires next season which could make him a bit of a wildcard transfer but if he were to replace Sinkgraven, he would still have plenty of time to adapt to the men's game behind Hincapie and Bakker. Lazio are the other team named as interested in the left back.
Sebastian Staszewski on Twitter tweeted that Oliwier Slawinski of Zaglebie Lubin was being watched by Bayer Leverkusen and Juventus. The Poland U17 international striker should not be on his way to Germany however, but instead Italy. The club in question is unnamed but negotiations are said to be ongoing.
Departures
According to Calciomercato.it information, Bayer Leverkusen are presently in contract talks with Piero Hincapie over a renewal until 2027 with economic adjustment. Not only this, the Ecuadorian's agents are 'focused' on it, indicating that they haven't yet received intriguing proposals from elsewhere. Should it be pulled off, it would be yet another masterstroke from Rolfes!
