Ukrainian football journalist Igor Tsyhanyk says that talks between Bayer Leverkusen and Shakhtar Donetsk over Mykhaylo Mudryk have stalled, despite the 20-year-old expressing clearly that he would not want to play for anyone else. This is allegedly due to Shakhtar wanting to maximise their revenue from him in order to pay off debt worth €50m from previous transfer fees to other clubs. Brentford are said to have became 'very active' again in their pursuit (who in Mudryk's own words is just a 'middle class Premier League club') and Juventus of course are also interested.
Alex Kral has cancelled his contract at Spartak Moscow for the upcoming season, the Russian club announced yesterday. His contract with Spartak runs until 2024 meaning that he would be available for free this summer before returning to the Russian capital for the 2023/24 campaign. This comes as FIFA extended its temporary employment rules which allow for foreign professionals playing in Russia or Ukraine to suspend their contracts until the start of 2023/24 as a consequence of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war. Leverkusen were linked a week ago with the 24-year-old Czech midfielder but the current trend is very much in the direction of Hertha Berlin who are making an 'intensive effort ' to sign him according to Fussball Transfers.
