Lucrative offer for Ghana winger, Weiser to Bremen done. Transfer Update 15/07/2022

Arrivals

Daniel Afriyie Bannieh of the Ghanaian Premier League's Hearts of Oak is on the 'verge of leaving' as written by Kick Off Ghana in an exclusive article - to Bayer 04. The 21-year-old winger, who made his debut for the Black Stars last month, was the Accra side's top scorer last season with 8 goals. Despite the obscurity of the rumour, he is not the first Ghanaian-based player to be linked with the Werkself in recent years - last year we had the Abdul Fatawu Issahaku which broke down last minute and this year, Franck Mbella Etouga (the league's top scorer). Leverkusen have made a 'lucrative offer' which Hearts are currently considering.

Departures

Leverkusen's 'problem child' Mitchell Weiser has finally secured his move to Werder Bremen. The 28-year-old played 75 games for Leverkusen, scoring 4 goals and assisting 4. Unfortunately poor performances and attitude confined him to the bench, that was if he was in the matchday squad at all. He leaves for free, signing a contract for an undisclosed length of time. It was a shame he never worked out with us, but with Bremen he has a team that clearly believes in him and will give him every opportunity to prove himself. Best of luck Mitch!
