Iker Bravo, 16-year-old centre forward, announced his departure from La Masia on social media this morning. Destination Bayer 04. According to Sport.es he is expected to join up with the team shortly, reuniting with his former coach Alberto Encinas. With Bravo we would be getting yet another top talent who whilst not likely to challenge for places anytime soon, will be a real option for the future.
There have been major developments in the race for the Iranian Messi Sardar Azmoun. TuttoMercatoWeb's editorial team claim he has given the go ahead for a transfer to the Werkself i.e. personal terms have been agreed and only the price is a matter of contention. The gap is of course just two million euros - we are offering €18m and St Petersburg want €20m, aware that 20% of any future sale will go to Azmoun's former club Rubin Kazan. An agreement edges ever closer, surely it is only a matter of days before a decision is made!
Last night it emerged that Leverkusen should be seriously involved with Brazilian Arthur Cabral, second-highest goalscorer of last season's Super League. Ge Globo, a Brazilian sports news site revealed that we should have made an offer of between €7m and €8m. That should be well off what Basel demands however - they want about €12m for the player. The rumour understandably confuses some, especially given how far we are in the negotiations for Sardar Azmoun (agreed personal terms and only €2m apart in our valuations). Maybe this is just a backup option in case negotiations with |Zenit break down or a sign that our forward line is going to be massively overhauled.

Aston Villa have another attempt at signing Leon Bailey, offering £30m for the attacker reports Sky. There is an agreement between Bailey and Leverkusen that he will be allowed to leave this summer but Bayer do not want to sell him below market value. This is very similar to previous news however in which we rejected a 30 million euro move for him so I would take it with a pinch of salt.
My thoughts go out to the people in Leverkusen; to live through two tragedies in a matter of weeks must be heartbreaking.
