Last season Lille managed the unthinkable by winning the Ligue 1 title. One of their key men was Jonathan Bamba, a 25-year-old left winger who was involved in 17 goals in the last campaign, is supposedly being closely watched by Leverkusen - that is according to journalist Fabrice Hawkins on Twitter. West Ham and Atalanta are the other interested clubs. When the news first broke it had all of us dreaming (we haven't had any new winger information for a while) but before we could get too carried away, Kicker shut down the speculation, saying that while we have been considering Bamba, he is not one of our preferred options. Who the others are, is not yet known.
Departures
It has been quite quiet around Joel Pohjanpalo for a while now. It has been long assumed that he will be on his way this summer but as of yet there hasn't really been that much interest in Finland's all-time Euro top scorer. Bild today wrote that Danger should have rejected an approach by Werder Bremen as he does not want to play in the 2. Bundesliga. Bild also says, in a separate article, that there has been a first 'loose contact' between VFB Stuttgart and the player. Stuttgart are currently without last season's top scorer Kalajdzic who has a broken shoulder so there is definitely a need. Stuttgart would be an ideally sized club for a player like Pohjanpalo who deserves his time to shine.
