Hincapie soon to be announced, Arias return and US talent. Transfer Update 12/08/2021

Arrivals

It has long been obvious to anyone following the Piero Hincapie transfer saga that a commitment of the player is due. Last night, one of his close friends even posted an Instagram story even wishing him luck in his next stage in his career. This morning Max Bielefeld of Sky tweeted: "5 year contract is almost ready to be signed. Last details remain to be negotiated between the 19 year old and Leverkusen. Then he will fly to Germany". For a long while this has been the case - the waiting game is a painful one.

Santiago Arias, our on-loan right back from last season could once again play under the Bayer cross. According to Kicker, to take the Colombian on a permanent deal has been a 'basic requirement' but Simon Rolfes says it all depends on how things shape up for the rest of our defence. Arias should now be fully recovered and seemingly as physically strong as before his ankle injury, playing in Atletico's preseason friendlies, however he has no future with the Spanish giants who have a quantitative overload in his position.

Steven Goff of the Washington Post claims that Bayer Leverkusen will sign 14-year-old Aaron Heard from St Louis FC's U17s. Due to the player's age, he will not be able to move for at least 2.5 years. Leverkusen have apparently been watching the youngster for a while now. Although there is not much information about him, he must be a special talent to play at a level so beyond his years.
