Hincapie in Europe, Bellerin linked and Kvaratskhelia update. Transfer Update 09/08/2021

Arrivals

Piero Hincapie, our number one target for central defence, may already be in Europe. Yesterday evening, he posted a picture of himself in a toilet somewhere. Rather meaningless on its own, but with that, he wrote a winking face and a lion emoji. Furthermore, eagle-eyed fans spotted that when he posted his story, on the watch he was wearing, was a time which would not have made sense were he still in Argentina. Unless it was an old photo, he might just be in Europe, hopefully in Leverkusen.

The Daily Mail report that Arsenal are looking to sign Kieran Trippier and with that, Hector Bellerin could be on his way out of the club with Leverkusen and Inter Milan touted as being interested. His contract expires in 2023 and is expected to leave this summer as Arsenal have apparently made no attempts as of yet to renew his contract. He is valued as €25m on Transfermarkt so the 26-year-old should not be cheap. We may have a big need on our right side at the moment but if we cannot afford Azmoun due to the financial package, it is highly doubtful we could with Bellerin.

Amine Adli, a player which we were at one point written to be in agreement with (personal terms at least) has finally once again been associated with us. The Ligue 2 player of the season should have spoken to Salihamidzic and Nagelsmann however and have his heart set on a move to Munich according to Max Bielefeld of Sky with a fee below €10m likely. He would have been a good backup striker with the potential to play on the wings so to lose out on him is a big blow given our circumstances.

The agent of Kazan winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has confirmed the interest of a host of clubs in an interview to the Georgian news site 'Sportall'. "The initiative is shown by at least five clubs of the German Bundesliga". We would be one of those clubs. However he later adds, At this stage, active negotiations are underway with only two clubs, one of which is in England and the other in Italy". Not really what you want to hear - with so much competition you have to act fast, especially with our needs. He would cost €18m.
