Arrivals
Yesterday the news emerged that Leverkusen had prepared an offer of €18m for Zenit's Sardar Azmoun. Now, as Championat reports, a deal between Zenit and Bayer is close to completion. Exciting times. Roma are not giving up hope just yet however as Calciomercato writes that we should only be just ahead of the Italian club. It must be said that not many German news companies have yet reported this story as of yet. Were an agreement to materialise, it would be yet another Rolfes masterclass.
Departures
If Azmoun were to come, it isn't unlikely that one of Patrik Schick or Lucas Alario would leave as understandably, players of their class do not want to sit out games on the bench. Potential destinations for both players both come from southern Spain, more specifically Seville. Fichajes.net write that Sevilla should reignite their interest in Alario after moving on from Joselu as his price tag of €20m was deemed unreasonably high. For Schick, city rivals Real Betis could be looking at him writes GolDigital. They cannot afford his transfer fee of '€28m' (which should be higher in reality) without selling players first however. To those who think that Betis couldn't pull off such a transfer, remember they are the club who signed Nabil Fekir, albeit at a bargain price.
According to the Rheinische Post, an unnamed Portuguese club has taken the lead in the race for Wendell. The transfer fee should amount to around €5m. Italian clubs Napoli and Udinese had also registered interest for our Brazilian left back.
