TheSecretScout tweeted yesterday that Aston Villa's Carney Chukwuemeka is wanted by Bayer Leverkusen among others. The 18-year-old central midfielder played just 294 minutes across 12 games in the Premier League last season for the Villans, has a market value of just €6m with a contract expiring next year but the Midlands side are seeking to reap at least £20m (€23.5m) from a move, according to TalkSport. Widely regarded as one of the finest English youngsters in his age group, he played an instrumental role with the England U19s as they won the U19 Euros earlier this summer, even scoring in the final against Israel. Barcelona have supposedly made contact with the player and Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United have also been linked, underlining his world class potential.
Departures
Edmond Tapsoba has once again been linked with a move away to the Premier League, this time, Arsenal. The Gunners could have to pay between €40m and €50m according to Football Transfers in order to satisfy Leverkusen. The Gunners attempted, and failed, to sign the Burkina Faso international last summer and should now be in the early stages of readying a bid. Earlier two weeks ago Simon Rolfes told Kicker, "We don't have any offers on the table. And we wouldn't give him up either". For now at least, we can safely plan with Edmond for the coming season.
