Big news for our central defence! Ecuadorian talent Piero Hincapie is set to travel to Germany on Friday and sign his contract on Monday writes @TalleresMP on Twitter. Talleres apparently demand €8.5 m for the defender. However, due to the fact that no other major news source has seemed to pick up on this big breaking news, we will have to wait to see how true it is.
Roma have signed Uzbekistan international Eldor Shomurodov from Bologna on loan. This means that Leverkusen should now be alone in the race for Sardar Azmoun, which we should be very advanced in. Now we have to wait for a sale for one of our strikers for a deal to be completed. Pohjanpalo or Alario?
Departures
For one striker to come, another must go. According to 90min.de, we do not go into the next season with a 4-4-2 as expected and so it would not be feasible to have 3 strikers of Schick's, Alario's and Azmoun's quality. Lucas Alario's exit seems the most likely as it stands (other than Pohjanpalo of course). According to Kicker, we should have received an offer from Udinese in Italy valued at €8m + €2m in bonuses. We do not want to settle for less than €10m. Simon Rolfes said “We don't want to let the contract with Lucas expire next year. That is the common understanding. We won't let him go for a free transfer next year". An agreement therefore will have to be done this summer and given the status of Azmoun's progress, in theory Alario's should be also quite far into negotiations.
Wendell was noticeably missing from yesterday's squad as they were humiliated by Utrecht. Could he be on his way to Portugal? Or maybe to Udinese? His absence couldn't have been a coincidence and there were no injuries to him. Maybe his €5m move might be coming shortly.
